What you can expect
Kachically is a unique popular tourists site that lies in the heart of Bakau, The Gambia. It has been a household for over 40 years for the different types of crocodiles. However, the site become a tourist attraction centre for its spiritual and social aspects. Women who were not able to conceive and scientifically proven by doctors to be barren became fertile and bear kids after performing their rituals or spiritual rights. The sacred place belongs to the Bojang family of Bakau, who are also among the founders and own a significant amount of land around The Greater Banjul Area.
I'll pick you up at your accommodation. We will go to Kachically where we start in the museum of ethnography where you can learn a lot about different tribes, traditions and way of life The Gambian people. Then we will take mini forest nature walk leading to the big silk tree locally called “bantango”. Finally, comes what you were looking forward to. We will go to Crocodile pool where you can see live crocodiles. If you are brave enough, you can touch the crocodile and take a photo with him. Don't be afraid, the crocodiles don't bite. :)
